Notes:

6/7/2025:

As of last Friday, several components for Batch 3 are still in the final stages of manufacturing:

  • Cheese plates are currently undergoing CNC machining
  • Some parts are still pending anodization
  • A portion of the VESA plate standoffs from a third-party supplier have yet to arrive

The primary reason for the delay stems from our main factory relocating to a significantly larger facility. While this upgrade is a very positive step forward - allowing for more capacity and smoother scaling in the future - it took longer than expected, and we weren’t fully informed about the impact this move would have on our production timeline. Unfortunately, such opperations are fully digitised so it is also difficult for the factories themselves to know the production status in lieu of doing a physical stock count on each CNC machine.

What’s Next

We expect to complete production within a week, followed by a one - day final assembly phase, where products will be packaged for customers. After that, I’ll be on-site at the factory to conduct final quality checks before we approve shipment.

Shipping Strategy

To make up for the delays, we’re expediting all U.S. orders via bulk airfreight - at our cost - to avoid the longer ocean freight transit. Products will ship:

  • To the U.S. warehouse, where they’ll be redistributed domestically
  • Directly from China to international customers

Final delivery estimates

  • USA: 3 - 5 business days after arrival at our U.S. warehouse
  • Rest of World: 10 - 14 days, with only a short delay for inbound sorting

Remaining Risks

There are two remaining areas where delays could occur:

  • Production Quality Approval: Although this is our third batch with these factories and we’re building a strong rhythm, each production still needs to meet our quality standards.
  • New U.S. Fulfillment Process: This is our first time executing bulk inbound freight followed by domestic fulfillment in the U.S., and while I’ve spent considerable time vetting providers and planning, there is always the potential for unforeseen logistics hiccups.

Please know this is my highest priority, and it's my heighest priority to ensure your gear gets to you as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and support. We’re nearly there.

26/6/2025:

Most of the core aluminum parts are also completed and likewise most of the parts from secondary factories have been produced, approved and shipped to our main factory. This includes things like tripod heads, packaging foams, screws and velcro cable ties.

11/6/2025:

Production started with a slight delay having had to align order quantity planning with likely requirment of our fulfilment partners in the USA. Minimums have multifaceted ripple effects accross our production and cash flow plans and can impact unit profitability extremly easily so we had to get this right.

To make good on some of the lost time we are evaluating to switch at least the pre order items from ocean freight to bulk air freight for US shipments, which would take two weeks instead of the regular month for ocean freight. Upon arrival in our new warehouse in the USA there will be inbound, "pick and pack" of individual orders and last mile fulfilment. We are finalising which couriers to pick in the US but expect another 10-14 days from product arrival in the US.
