Updates:

17 Sep 2025:

Last-mile delivery is underway in the USA 🎉

After a few intense days aligning our Shopify system with our logistics provider’s warehouse management system, orders are now moving quickly. The majority of packages have already been picked up by FedEx, with many customers seeing delivery estimates for Thursday, September 18 — right at the lower end of the 2-day delivery window from warehouse dispatch.

A quick note on tracking:
In some cases, shipment confirmations may have shown only a tracking number without a clickable link or courier reference. If that’s you, please note that all U.S. orders are shipped with FedEx. You can track your order by pasting your tracking number here: https://www.fedex.com/en-us/home.html. Normally a clickable link should be included in your shipping confirmation, and we are working with our provider to ensure this is fixed going forward.

If you haven’t received your shipping confirmation yet, don’t worry — most orders are already on the way, and we are actively processing the remaining ones for fulfillment.

04 Sep 2025:

The US stocks have officially cleared customs and arrived at our new US warehouse. They are currently being inbounded into the warehouse and readied for "pick and pack" (= breaking them down into end customer shipments).

21 Aug 2025:

US stocks have been picked up by the freight forwarder and are on their way to the US warehouse! This leg takes an estimated 10-15days with the flight from China to USA being scheduled for Monday 25 Aug.

Rest of World orders should all be picked up by the respective couriers by now and will update tracking once we receive them.

17 Aug 2025:

A quick shipping update (email to follow in a day or two):

Rest of World Orders
Products for non-US orders arrived at our Chinese warehouse, went through pick & pack, and started to be handed over to couriers last week. Since our old logistics provider doesn’t have a direct API connection with Shopify, we haven’t yet received the tracking details to upload. We’ll add them manually as soon as they reach us (that means shipments will have left days before you receive your shipping confirmation).

US Orders
US stock is expected to leave for our new US warehouse tomorrow or the day after. Despite starting onboarding with a team of eight from the logistics provider more than a month before production ended, new master carton labeling requirements surfaced at the last moment when we wanted to ship. This then required completing their software integration ahead of shipment - a process that was expected to be completed while product is on the way to the USA.

We will provide another update the moment the US quantities are on the way to the US.

04 Aug 2025:

I visited our main factory on Saturday and I’m happy to report that product quality looks excellent. We’re now organizing shipments to our two logistics partners - one for the USA and one for the rest of the world.

Once your order is picked and packed at the warehouse, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking info. Please be reminded that these may come slightly after the shipment goes out. We’ll also post another update here once everything is in motion.

Thanks for your continued patience - we’re making progress.

28 Jul 2025:

We’ve heard your feedback - loud and clear. Many of you have pointed out that we should share updates via email more regularly, not just through our blog. That’s absolutely fair.

While we’ve been consistently posting updates to the Batch 3 Blog since production began, those posts didn’t trigger email notifications or link directly from our preorder policy page.

We’ve fixed that.

Going forward, you’ll find direct links to the latest updates on both the preorder policy page and our blog homepage. And more importantly, we’re now bringing those updates directly to your inbox - like this one.

📦 Production Status: Almost There
Batch 3 production is very far along. Several SKUs are already packaged. What’s holding us up? A few remaining minor components - most notably, some custom screws. Because this batch is being bulk-shipped to the U.S. (instead of individually shipped direct-to-consumer like before), we can't start shipping available SKUs early and need every last screw in place before we can complete packaging and begin freight.

To add context: we work with 8 different factories and while they produce high-quality parts, they’re not integrated in a way that gives us real-time status updates. This sometimes slows our coordination. But the system is getting better with every production run.

🔜 What’s Next?
We currently expect the final parts to arrive within this week. That allows us to:

  • Finalize assembly and packaging by end of this week (this step only takes 1-2 days)
  • Complete quality checks in person (Wolfgang will be on-site for this)
  • Ship to our new U.S. warehouse via bulk air freight at our own expense (≈ 2 weeks transit time) and within a day to our China warehouse for Rest of World shipments
  • From the warehouses, orders will be broken down into individual last-mile deliveries

🔍 Important Reminder: Tracking numbers will only be generated during the last-mile phase - not during the bulk freight shipment to the warehouse. That means US customers will only receive shipping confirmations and tracking details from the US warehouse to their home address (i.e. last week of the journey).

Good news: In-stock orders in the USA will ship within days, not weeks going forward. We expect last-mile delivery times in the U.S. to range from 2-7 days.

⚠️ Remaining Delay Risks
Again Batch 3 has our full attention, but we want to manage expectations. This is our first-ever bulk shipment to the U.S. warehouse, which means:

  • Every step is being done for the first time.
  • Customs clearance, U.S. warehouse unpacking, and final mile courier handoffs are all untested - and any one of them could cause minor delays.
  • Warehouse staff will be handling Monoblocc packaging requirements for the first time.

But make no mistake: we’ve prioritized this batch and our new supply chain above all else. That’s also why you’ve seen fewer social media posts and marketing efforts lately - we’re focused on what matters most: getting you a product that meets (or exceeds) expectations.

Thank you again for your support and patience as we get through this major step together. We’re nearly there.

18 Jul 2025:

More parts have arrived at the main facility. One item that was keenly awaited was the third shipment of magic arms and they finally have been sent off by that factory yesterday (see below boxes). Also our custom CNCed stand offs arrived at the end of last week. The goal is to execute all assembly (i.e. putting components into end consumer packaging) next week. With shipping to logistics by the end of next week.

6 Jul 2025:

As of last Friday, several components for Batch 3 are still in the final stages of manufacturing:

  • Cheese plates are currently undergoing CNC machining
  • Some parts are still pending anodization
  • A portion of the VESA plate standoffs from a third-party supplier have yet to arrive

The primary reason for the delay stems from our main factory relocating to a significantly larger facility. While this upgrade is a very positive step forward - allowing for more capacity and smoother scaling in the future - it took longer than expected, and we weren’t fully informed about the impact this move would have on our production timeline. Unfortunately, such opperations are fully digitised so it is also difficult for the factories themselves to know the production status in lieu of doing a physical stock count on each CNC machine.

What’s Next

We expect to complete production within a week, followed by a one - day final assembly phase, where products will be packaged for customers. After that, I’ll be on-site at the factory to conduct final quality checks before we approve shipment.

Shipping Strategy

To make up for the delays, we’re expediting all U.S. orders via bulk airfreight - at our cost - to avoid the longer ocean freight transit. Products will ship:

  • To the U.S. warehouse, where they’ll be redistributed domestically
  • Directly from China to international customers

Final delivery estimates

  • USA: 3 - 5 business days after arrival at our U.S. warehouse
  • Rest of World: 10 - 14 days, with only a short delay for inbound sorting

Remaining Risks

There are two remaining areas where delays could occur:

  • Production Quality Approval: Although this is our third batch with these factories and we’re building a strong rhythm, each production still needs to meet our quality standards.
  • New U.S. Fulfillment Process: This is our first time executing bulk inbound freight followed by domestic fulfillment in the U.S., and while I’ve spent considerable time vetting providers and planning, there is always the potential for unforeseen logistics hiccups.

Please know this is my highest priority, and it's my heighest priority to ensure your gear gets to you as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and support. We’re nearly there.

26 Jun 2025:

Most of the core aluminum parts are also completed and likewise most of the parts from secondary factories have been produced, approved and shipped to our main factory. This includes things like tripod heads, packaging foams, screws and velcro cable ties.

A couple images that have accumulated over the past days from quality checks and shipping confirmations below:

11 Jun 2025:

Production started with a slight delay having had to align order quantity planning with likely requirment of our fulfilment partners in the USA. Minimums have multifaceted ripple effects accross our production and cash flow plans and can impact unit profitability extremly easily so we had to get this right.

To make good on some of the lost time we are evaluating to switch at least the pre order items from ocean freight to bulk air freight for US shipments, which would take two weeks instead of the regular month for ocean freight. Upon arrival in our new warehouse in the USA there will be inbound, "pick and pack" of individual orders and last mile fulfilment. We are finalising which couriers to pick in the US but expect another 10-14 days from product arrival in the US.
