Frequently Asked Questions

What monitors can I use a Monitor Rig with?

You can use Monitor Rig with any monitor that allows for VESA based wall or arm mounting and follows the 75mm or 100mm VESA standard. Please be aware of any protrusions, design features or cable positionings that could interfere with your preferred rod placements. Each VESA kit comes with 5mm and 10mm stand offs that help clear any VESA mount recess or design features on the back of your monitor.

Should I use a monitor arm or can I attach monitor rig directly to a monitor?

While Monitor Rig can be mounted directly to the back of your monitor, using a monitor arm will significantly increase load capacity and stability depending on your monitor's back design and materials used. Given the great variety of monitors available on the market we cannot make claims about the suitable load capacity of mounting a Monitor Rig directly to the back of a monitor. Especially when using double-rod assemblies you should use a monitor arm where the VESA plate is first screwed into the monitor arm for a more secure connection.

When should I get a double-rod or single-rod kit?

Single-rods are great for flexible mounting of light accessories such as webcams and light weight LEDs as the can be used with angled M12 threads.

Double-rods provide a greatly improved load capacity and rotational rigidity which is especially useful when side mounting heavier accessories such a microphones. They also feature a lot more mounting options with their cheese plates, offering countless 1/4"-20 threads and their rod clamps also offering M12 threads for more top and bottom rods off the side of a monitor.
