Assembly update and engravings announcment

Dear Backers,

 

Last week, Wolfgang visited our main factory in Mainland China twice to check on assembly - i.e. the process of putting all the parts in product packaging. 

Assembly Status: We're almost there!

All packaging materials (foams, boxes, labels) have been received and fit well. Assembly SOPs have been fine-tuned and practiced for our 14 different individually packaged pledges and add-ons.

 

The main takeaway, packaging is almost completed!

 

Not an easy task, but one that has to be executed accurately given all products have a different combination of individual plates, rods, little screws, stand-offs, velcro cable ties... 

 

What has taken longer than expected? Anodisation of the double-rod parts and one quality issue where threads weren’t deep enough in some parts. 

 

As of today, most of the products are assembled and quality inspected. We expect this process to be completed by the end of the week - i.e. products fully assembled in closed packaging.

The next step will be delivery to our logistics partner’s warehouse (our main warehouse is in close proximity to the factory in Mainland China). 

 

There, individual backer shipments will be packaged in transport boxes and directly sent to you via airfreight (within days of receipt at warehouse).

Stretch Goal: Engravings

We couldn’t help ourselves but to use the delays to add the “missed” stretch goal and include engravings to the rods and VESA plates! That includes branding and a special “Kickstarter Founders Edition” engraving on all VESA plates of which only 95 of each version will ever exist!

Shipping address survey closing date is approaching

We will send further updates once the products leave the factory and once they leave the warehouse. The shiping address survey is still available for a few more days, if you need to make last minute changes to your shipping address. We will close it as late as possible when we actually ship product to the warehouse and will give you an advance warning of a day or two. Please make any changes as soon as possible.

 

Again thank you for all the patience. The last factory visit was on Sunday (!!) and yes it was buzzing with activity to get your pledges assembled asap. Also a special thank you to those of you who added more double-rods to your pledges in the last few days!
